With a little over two weeks to go in the summer window, it’s not surprising that our latest Championship transfer round-up is absolutely brimming with big stories.

While some clubs in the Championship may well feel their business is done and dusted now, there are plenty of others that are still desperate to get some deals across the line by September 1st.

The likes of Wrexham, Birmingham City and Norwich City have made multiple signings and look far stronger for it. Meanwhile, Middlesbrough and, rather understandably, Sheffield Wednesday, have a lot of work to do.

It’s an exciting time then, with a whole host of rumours sure to be sparked once the Premier League season kicks off and certain players learn they are not part of the plans in the top flight.

So, let’s dive into the latest Championship transfer round-up for now before things really take off.

Championship transfer round-up: West Brom sell one and miss one

It’s not been a good week for West Brom. Not only were they knocked out of the Carabao Cup on penalties, but they’re also selling Torbjorn Heggem to Bologna.

Admittedly, getting £10m for the big defender isn’t a bad deal, but it will leave the Baggies short at the back.

West Brom are also missing out on Chris Ramos, who will join Botafogo in Brazil. The Baggies bid £2.5m for the forward earlier this summer.

Hull City miss out on targets

Another club missing out on targets is Hull City. First of all, Matija Frigan is heading to Parma, while Cherif Ndiaye is signing for Al Jazira.

It’s also said Hull will sell Abu Kamara to Getafe for £3.5m imminently. He follows the likes of Alfie Jones and Steven Alzate in departing the club this summer.

The Tigers are still under a transfer fee ban, so it’s free agents and loan signings only for Sergej Jakirovic.

Latest update on Tyler Dibling’s future

Over the weekend, Michael Dawson slammed Southampton for valuing Tyler Dibling so highly. Since then, it’s emerged that the Saints have sent a counter-offer to Everton which could get a deal done.

It’s unknown how much that counter-offer was, but we know Southampton want around £50m for Dibling in an ideal world.

Meanwhile, Samuel Edozie wants to leave Southampton after Club Brugge showed an interest. And, West Ham offered £30m for Mateus Fernandes, but that was rejected.

There is some good news, though. Southampton are trying to sign Jack Rudoni from Coventry City and have entered talks with the Sky Blues to make it happen.

Middlesbrough sign Sontje Hansen

Middlesbrough were embarrassed in midweek with a 4-0 hammering at home to League One outfit Doncaster Rovers in the cup.

However, Boro have signed Sontje Hansen, which is surely a boost. We’re told Hansen will play as a 10 alongside Finn Azaz, and the man himself has promised he will do ‘beautiful things’ on the pitch.

Rob Edwards has said more signings are coming for Boro, with Charlie Taylor the latest target for that left side of defence.

Going the other way this week, Rav van den Berg moved to FC Koln for £11.2m.

Championship transfer round-up: Lewis Travis, Ross McRorie, Sheffield Wednesday movement

We conclude our Championship transfer round-up, as always, with a blitz through the other movers and shakers this week.

Lewis Travis is one of the big stories this week, having told Blackburn Rovers he wants to leave. Travis is keen to join Derby County, but Valerien Ismael has dug his heels in and said the Rams must meet his valuation or give up the chase.

It was thought Ross McRorie could be off to Italy after interest from Udinese. However, Robins boss Gerhard Struber insists he will not let his star man go.

Sheffield Wednesday want to sign Emile Heskey’s son, Jaden, on loan from Man City. The Owls are also intent on keeping Pierce Charles despite his heroics last weekend.

And finally, a number of Championship clubs want to loan Lewis Koumas from Liverpool. Wrexham are in the hunt, but so are Hull, Sheffield United, and Norwich City.
