Southampton’s summer rebuild has started under the guidance of Will Still as the Saints aim to become automatic promotion contenders.
The start of the summer transfer window has seen Southampton sign Joshua Quarshie from Hoffenheim, while a raft of players have exited St Mary’s.
Youngster Samuel Amo-Ameyaw joined ambitious Ligue 1 outfit Strasbourg for a fee of around £6 million. Southampton have also bid farewell to Kyle Walker-Peters, alongside veteran Adam Lallana and back-up goalkeeper Joe Lumley.
A mass exodus of players looks set to continue, though, as EFL Analysis revealed that Atalanta have bid for winger Kamaldeen Sulemana and Leeds United have shown an interest in Shea Charles.
Although supporters would feel upset watching Charles return to the Premier League, they’re excited for one flop striker to leave the club.

Trabzonspor president slams Southampton’s Paul Onuachu ‘demands’
Southampton signed striker Paul Onuachu for around £18 million in January 2023. The towering striker has since netted a measly four goals in Premier League 36 appearances for the Saints and failed to repay his price tag.
We revealed that, after a torrid time at St Mary’s, Onuachu is set to join Trabzonspor on a three-year deal, with the 31-year-old returning to a club where he plundered an impressive 17 goals in 25 appearances in 2023/24.
Trabzonspor’s president Ertugrul Dogan even confirmed a transfer for Onuachu but just when it looked as though a deal was agreed, a stumbling block has emerged.
In an interview with Turkish outlet Haberanlik, Dogan has slammed Southampton for their ‘constant demands’ as the Saints keep on holding out for a higher fee than Trabzonspor are willing to pay.
“Onuachu’s club has endless demands,” he said. “They have constant demands. I will not give the 8-9-10 million Euros that are being talked about in the market. Last year, they wanted 15 million Euros, and we said we would not give it again. Trabzonspor does not have the money to give in this way.”
Sharing the details of the offer made for Onuachu, Dogan said: We made our offer. We made an offer of around 5.5-6 million Euros, including bonuses. Negotiations are currently ongoing.”
Southampton are willing to let Ramsdale leave on loan
Southampton are holding out as much as possible for the Nigerian centre-forward, knowing the Turkish giants are desperate to land him.
It appears once a fee is agreed, a deal will go through successfully and the focus will shift on getting rid of their other highest earners.
Aaron Ramsdale is the highest-paid player in the Championship as he earns a whopping £120k-a-week. The Saints are willing to shift their inflated wage bill and use the money to invest elsewhere.
It was reported on Monday that Southampton want to loan out Ramsdale, who would need to be replaced by Still.
The 27-year-old has interest from Galatasaray, Monaco and Rangers, but it remains to be seen whether any side agrees on a transfer.
