Sheffield Wednesday continued their struggling start to the season with a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Bristol City.
Sheffield Wednesday suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat against Bristol City on Saturday afternoon.
Henrik Pedersen was angry with the Bristol City loss after the summer appointment saw his side fail to land a glove on the visiting Robins.
An own-goal from Manchester United loanee Harry Amass opened the scoring before strikes from Emil Riis Jakobsen and Anis Mehmeti sent the Robins into the interval comfortably ahead.
Worryingly, Mehmeti wanted a hat-trick against Sheffield Wednesday, and the Owls’ defensive issues were at the forefront of Pedersen’s reflections.

Sheffield Wednesday’s defensive issues were clear against Bristol City
In truth, the affair was all but finished after just over half an hour on the clock, with Sheffield Wednesday conceding three goals by the 33rd minute.
Sheffield Wednesday are finding it hard to win at Hillsborough with fans staging protests at every home game so far this season, and the Robins defeat evidenced that by becoming the Owls’ third consecutive defeat on home soil.
For Pedersen, Sheffield Wednesday’s defensive concerns were the “problem” against Bristol City.
Pedersen told Sheffield Wednesday’s website: “I think we gave ourselves a difficult beginning because it was equal the first four or five minutes.
“It’s hard, we are here to win football games and here to go from the stadium with three points but to lose again, we hate this.
“But for me, I have said before my job is to look behind and see that improvement in different areas of the game.
“Today I saw our general organised press was a big step ahead, we were organised but how we conceded our chances was today the problem.
“We won the ball but then lost the ball and in the half-track is where we had problems.
“I can see some steps forward but I can also see some steps backward and losing the ball today was expensive for us.”

Sheffield Wednesday need Pierce Charles back from injury soon
Sheffield Wednesday’s number one goalkeeper, Pierce Charles, is injured and he is not expected to return until mid-October.
As a result of the young shot-stopper’s injury woes, Sheffield Wednesday signed Ethan Horvath on an emergency loan from Cardiff City, but he has struggled so far between the Owls’ sticks.
Horvath shone in the Carabao Cup win over Leeds United, but his form in the Championship has been less than convincing.
In three Championship appearances for Wednesday, Horvath has shipped seven goals and registered a save percentage of just 59%.
With Pedersen admitting to the Owls’ defensive fragility, the sooner Charles returns from the sidelines, the better for Sheffield Wednesday amid their fight to dodge relegation to League One.
