Sheffield Wednesday find themselves in a messy situation at present, and Danny Rohl’s future is very much a part of that uncertainty.
Between unpaid wages leading to a transfer embargo and a manager who has made it pretty clear he wants to leave, it’s not the best time to be a Sheffield Wednesday fan.
The future of the club itself is in doubt as things stand, with points deductions, transfer bans, and even administration potentially on the cards.
As for Danny Rohl, the issue is that no club is willing to pay his release clause, while Chansiri will not sack him and make that exit any easier.

Danny Rohl admits he is ‘comfortable’ in England
Just last week, Rohl spoke about his desire to be back in Germany. There have been numerous links between the young coach and clubs like Werder Bremen and RB Leipzig, while more recently, Wolfsburg had spoken to Rohl.
Now, in his latest interview with German media, Rohl has again spoken about how happy he would be in his homeland, while also hinting he does like working in England.
Rohl was at a charity event in Leipzig, an event he described as a “melting pot of Leipzig football” where “everyone has worked together before”. He also said it was “simply great” being there.
But, when quizzed about his time in England, Rohl said: “It’s very good, very special. The English culture has tied me up, first in Southampton and now at Sheffield Wednesday.
“It’s a demanding league in England but I feel very comfortable. Let’s see what the future brings.”
While he may be comfortable in England, Rohl did go on to discuss how his family is still based in Leipzig. He added, “In football, everything is possible. Maybe you will see me again in Germany at some point.”

Will Danny Rohl stay put or head home?
There are two ways to interpret these comments from Rohl. On the one hand, he clearly does like coaching in England, but while that may give Wednesday fans hope, it will also suggest to Middlesbrough that he’s keen on sticking around if they want to take him on.
We know Middlesbrough are considering Rohl alongside Rob Edwards as they look for a new manager. The main issue would appear to be that £5m release clause Boro would have to pay.
Rohl is also a frontrunner for Leicester if the Foxes decide to part ways with Ruud van Nistelrooy, so he clearly does have options in England.
At the end of the day, though, we are told Rohl would prefer to return to Germany more than anything. If that opportunity arises, be it at Leipzig or elsewhere in his homeland, it would be very hard to turn down, we’re sure.
