Birmingham City host Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship on Tuesday night, and Benjamin Bloom has shared his score prediction.

Birmingham City and Sheffield Wednesday go head to head on Tuesday night in what promises to be another tricky game for both sides at St Andrew’s.

Last weekend, Birmingham City were thumped 3-0 by Coventry City in a very disappointing outing for Blues, with fans critical of manager Chris Davies after the game.

Meanwhile, Sheffield Wednesday drew 1-1 with QPR as Henrik Pedersen’s crisis club put another important point on the board, following the Owls’ 2-0 win against Portsmouth in the previous outing.

As things stand, Birmingham City sit in 11th place of the Championship table compared to Wednesday in 23rd, with five points separating the two teams.

Birmingham City vs Sheffield Wednesday score prediction, Blues backed to win

Speaking on the Championship Check In podcast, EFL expert Benjamin Bloom has dropped his Birmingham City vs Sheffield Wednesday score prediction, tipping the home side to win but backing Wednesday to at least get on the scoresheet, and maybe even go ahead in the game.

Bloom said: “Wednesday have had an all right couple of results haven’t they? A win and a draw. They’re skewing slightly better away from home. Birmingham are concerning in the respect that they’re not making enough chances. I think it’s three defeats in four now for Blues and in those three games one shot on target which is slightly alarming.

“I’ve gone 2-1 Blues. I think Sheffield Wednesday can score. I think Sheffield Wednesday could even take the lead in this one and then Birmingham will kind of get their act together and overpower them.”

More bad news for Sheffield Wednesday ahead of Birmingham City

Wednesday’s struggles off the pitch have been well documented this season, with the Owls under several strict transfer embargoes.

And just last week, it was revealed that owner Dejphon Chansiri has missed yet another payment deadline, relating to both football and non-football payments.

That’s not all, though. Ahead of the game against Birmingham City, it’s been revealed that the Sheffield Wednesday players will not be paid on time for September, with pay due on Tuesday 30th September.

Nonetheless, expect Barry Bannan and the rest of the Owls squad to head to Birmingham City and give their all yet again, despite this craziness going on off the field at Hillsborough.

Kick off is at 7:45pm.
