Every day brings fresh rumours for clubs in the second tier, but we’ve gathered the best of them here in our latest Championship transfer round-up.
The clock is ticking on the transfer window with deadline day just days away, and clubs in the Championship are putting the finishing touches to their summer business as we speak.
We’re unlikely to see the likes of Norwich City or Stoke City doing much more work in the market, but we wouldn’t bet against some more Wrexham signings getting the green light before September 1st.
In today’s Championship transfer round-up, though, we’re covering the latest from Middlesbrough, Leicester City, and Millwall.

Bilal El Khannouss now likely to stay at Leicester City
After weeks of speculation suggesting Leicester City will sell Bilal El Khannouss, it now seems he’s likely to stay put.
Thanks to the sales of Kasey McAteer and James Justin, there are no PSR concerns for the Foxes. Now, Leicester have increased El Khannouss’ asking price to £35m, which has put Crystal Palace off.
Meanwhile, one player who could leave is Victor Kristiansen, who is a target for Nottingham Forest. The two clubs are thought to be ‘in talks’ according to Fabrizio Romano.
Millwall hijack Wrexham move for Andy Irving
Despite Wrexham trying to sign a new midfielder this week, it’s Millwall who are closing in on Andy Irving. The West Ham man rejected the Red Dragons but could join the Lions for £3.5m.
Speaking of Wrexham, it’s a surprise they’ve not tried to sign Jamie Vardy this summer. That’s according to Rio Ferdinand, who thinks the former Leicester man would be the perfect fit for Phil Parkinson’s side.
As for the striker situation at Wrexham, it looks like Ollie Palmer is leaving. He’s not bound for a move to Non-League Dorking, but he will depart soon.

Kaly Sene incoming for Middlesbrough
We could be hearing about Middlesbrough a lot in our Championship transfer round-up from here on out.
First of all, Boro may miss out on Cheikh Sabaly after Metz insisted they will not reduce the £3.5m asking price. His manager, Frederic Arpinon, has reminded the player he is under contract.
The good news, though, is that Middlesbrough are close to signing Kaly Sene. The forward will leave Lausanne Sport and join Boro, with his medical arranged for the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Tommy Conway discussed his Middlesbrough future. He says he’s happy to be part of the squad and is pleased more ‘quality’ is coming on board.
Championship transfer round-up: Milan van Ewijk issue, Southampton target, Blackburn eye £5m striker
Just two days ago it seemed Milan van Ewijk would leave Coventry City. Now, his move to Wolfsburg looks like it’ll fall through.
Elsewhere, Eduard Spertsyan has been told he can join Southampton, if the right offer comes in. We also know the Saints had a £10m bid rejected for Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, but they will go back with an improved offer.
And finally, we wrap up this Championship transfer round-up with some Blackburn Rovers talk. Sambou Soumano is a target for Valerien Ismael, but Celtic also want the £5m striker. This comes after Ryoya Miroshita signed for Rovers, and made some big promises to fans about his goal and assist output.
