The transfer window isn’t even open yet, but teams from across the EFL are scrambling to get deals done. Now, you can catch up with it all in our latest Championship transfer round-up.
While the order of the day right now appears to be sacking managers — with Hull City the latest to make a change at the helm — there are still plenty of rumours and deals to discuss when it comes to transfers.
The May 17th deadline has now passed, which means a number of Championship clubs have released players and shared their retained lists for the season ahead.
It also means a lot of free agents are now on the market ahead of the summer transfer window. More on those players, and some pretty big deals, in our Championship transfer round-up today.

Burnley and Leeds United set to have very different summers
Burnley and Leeds United will not be part of our world for much longer, having secured promotion to the Premier League. However, the summer ahead for both teams could be fascinating, for very different reasons.
While Leeds won’t be keeping Junior Firpo, who is set for a return to Spain, there is good news elsewhere. A deal for Manor Solomon looks likely, with the winger very settled after his loan spell in Yorkshire.
Burnley, on the other hand, are set for further blows after the departure of CJ Egan-Riley. We’re told James Trafford could be sacrificed to ease financial woes, and Maxime Esteve could follow, too.
Birmingham City and Wrexham are not messing about
Meanwhile, the two clubs promoted to the Championship from League One are wasting no time in showing us what they’re about in the transfer market.
We’re told Birmingham City will recruit in at least five positions this summer. A new goalkeeper is on the list, as is a full-back, central midfielder, winger, and striker.
The Blues face a fight to sign Kwame Poku, though, with interest from abroad complicating matters for Birmingham and Peterborough United.
Not content to be made to look cheap, Wrexham are making changes of their own. A lucrative offer is thought to be tempting Tom Cairney to join the Welsh revolution right now.
Wrexham released Steven Fletcher this week, and Paul Mullin could be next to leave, with Wigan keen on the marksman.
Ipswich and Leicester City to fight for Coventry City ace
It’s not been a good week for Coventry City. Not only did they lose in the Championship play-offs, but we’re now told star striker Haji Wright is wanted by both Ipswich and Leicester this summer.
Interestingly, Frank Lampard could leave as well. Southampton are very keen on making him the new manager at St. Mary’s and Lampard himself is believed to be interested.
It’s not all bad news for Coventry fans in our Championship transfer round-up, though. The Sky Blues are leading the race to sign Kaine Kesler-Hayden for £5m after his loan spell with Preston North End, with Aston Villa ready to let the young full-back go.

Derby County could be busy
After securing their status as a Championship club in the dying stages of the season, it seems Derby County are not about to rest on their laurels.
First of all, we are told the Rams are likely to snap up Nat Phillips after his loan spell at Pride Park. The defender’s contract at Liverpool is coming to an end, and a return to Derby looks to be on.
Derby are also tracking Kamil Conteh, though they’ll face competition from recently-relegated Plymouth Argyle for the Bristol Rovers man.
Players coming in and out for Hull City
Hull City also survived, yet they inexplicably sacked Ruben Selles this week. While searching for a new manager, there are plenty of rumours regarding player arrivals and departures, too.
Premier League clubs are thought to be interested in Abu Kamara. Surprising as that may be to Hull fans, a summer move is not being ruled out at this stage.
Cody Drameh could follow him out of the club, too, albeit in less dramatic circumstances. The defender is coming to the end of his contract and looks set to be released.
The one bit of good news for Hull fans is that Oli McBurnie could be joining the Tigers. The former Sheffield United man has not enjoyed his time in Spain and may look to return to the UK.

Jamie Vardy’s Sheffield Wednesday move is still on
We bring our Championship transfer round-up to a close with more word on Jamie Vardy’s future.
The Leicester man is known to be eager to stay in the Premier League if possible. But, we exclusively revealed that the dream move to Sheffield Wednesday is still on for Vardy.
There is interest from a number of clubs across the world, but Vardy is very tempted by the idea of a glorious return to his boyhood club. Watch this space.
Meanwhile, Sheffield Wednesday secured the future of club captain and legend Barry Bannan this week. The veteran midfielder will be sticking around for another year after the Owls triggered an extension in his contract. Wednesday’s retained list also saw Josh Windass staying put, too.
