There are just two days to go in the 2025/26 summer transfer window, and in the Championship, the heat has been turned up.

It’s been quite the summer for the second tier, and now we are closing in on deadline day, with the window set to shut on Monday at 7pm.

Chris Davies has work to do at Birmingham City, while John Eustace is preparing to let players go at Derby County. Meanwhile, Ipswich Town are continuing to go big as the Tractor Boys continue to struggle following relegation.

Here at EFL Analysis, we’ve rounded up some of the biggest transfer stories from the Championship in the last day, as managers finally start to finalise their squads.

Leicester City are looking to Europe for their next signing

Leicester kicked off the weekend with an excellent 2-0 win over Birmingham, and while it was one of their very best performances over the course of the last year, Marti Cifuentes is still looking to add to his squad in the transfer market.

Therefore, it will come as no surprise to see the Foxes linked with a move for Anton Saletros from AIK. The midfielder is the captain of the Swedish giants, with Cifuentes having experience of coaching at the club in the past.

The Leicester boss is uncertain about Bilal El Khannouss’ future, and therefore it is imperative that moves are made quickly to fill the squad at the King Power Stadium.

Swansea City face a waiting game for Adam Idah from Celtic

Swansea City are pushing to sign Adam Idah for £7m from Celtic, as per Sky Sports. However, they face a hold up in any potential move for the striker.

The Scottish giants are trying to sign Kasper Dolberg as his replacement, but Brendan Rodgers is unsure about the timeline of his arrival.

Idah, who has featured for Norwich City in the Championship previously, scored 13 league goals for Celtic last season, but is currently struggling for game time, and a move does have legs. Yet, Swansea have to play the waiting game on this one.

Derby County look to strike permanent Dion Sanderson deal

After arriving on loan from Birmingham City, Dion Sanderson has finally found form at Derby following a tricky start.

A good performance against Bristol City has been followed up by strong showings against Burnley in the Carabao Cup and then away to Ipswich Town. Now, the Rams are looking to sign the defender permanently from Championship rivals Birmingham.

Alan Nixon has reported that a £500k deal is on the cards, as it would free up another loan slot for the Rams. Meanwhile, Kane Wilson looks to be heading to MK Dons from Derby.

Championship transfer round-up: Blackburn face Sheffield Wednesday snub, Southampton go for Dane, Sheffield United close in on Chelsea ace

Elsewhere in the Championship, Sheffield Wednesday have rejected a £1m offer for Bailey Cadamarteri from Blackburn Rovers. The 20-year-old would have returned to the Owls on loan for the rest of the season had a deal been agreed.

Meanwhile, Southampton are taking an interest in Galatasaray’s Elias Jelert. The Danish full-back would be signed on loan by the Saints if a move does come off, and could leave James Bree even further out of favour.

Ruben Selles’ future is being questioned following another Sheffield United loss, this time to Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium. However, Alex Matos has now completed his medical as he closes in on a move from Chelsea.

In other news, Tomas Rigo has signed for Stoke City, Rob Edwards confirmed Middlesbrough’s interest in David Strelec and Onel Hernandez has been angered by Marcelino Nunez’s move to Ipswich.
